Male Hair Loss
Type of Hair Loss

Roughly 95 percent of thinning hair in men is caused by male pattern hair loss, which can manifest as a receding hairline or a thinning patch at the crown of the head. If your hair loss doesn't match this pattern, you may be among the remaining 5 percent whose hair loss is the result of an underlying health condition such as auto-immune disease, hormonal imbalance, severe trauma or shock to the system, medication side effects or other causes.

Male Pattern Hair Loss

If you're experiencing male pattern hair loss, you can thank your parents for passing the genes along to you. This type of hair loss occurs when DHT causes the hair follicles to shed thick hairs and produce thinner, shorter, colorless hairs. This "peach fuzz" makes the hair look thinner, leads to bald spots, and evnentually permanent hair loss. Once the hair follicles in thinning areas atrophy and die, the scalp appears tight and shiny.

Alopecia areata

Patchy hair loss-most commonly seen on the scalp and in the beard area-is likely alopecia areata. The hair falls out in these areas and results in smooth, round patches that can be about the size of a coin or larger. Alopecia Areata is caused by the immune system attacking the hair follicles, alopecia areata can start or stop suddenly, and can occur in children and adults.

Telogen effluvium

Anemia, low iron, inadequate protein, thyroid disease, surgery and illness can trigger sudden and massive hair shedding over the entire scalp known as Telogen Efflivium. Those who experience this type of hair loss often notice large amounts of hair coming out in their hairbrush, in the shower or on their pillow. Once the cause is addressed, hair loss usually reverses in 6 to 12 months without any treatment.

Traction alopecia

Excessive, ongoing pulling of the hair can result in traction alopecia. Most frequently seen in braided hair, this constant stress causes permanent damage to the hair follicle and prevents hair from regrowing.

NO SIDE EFFECTS
Proven to work without side effects

Because Revivogen is applied where needed-on the scalp-it only blocks the DHT in the hair follicles, which is the DHT that causes hair loss. This means Revivogen doesn't reduce DHT throughout the entire body, which can lead to potential side effects like loss of libido in men.
