Hair Loss Questions

Question of the Day
Can Revivogen be used with the HairMax Lasercomb which has been approved by the FDA for hair loss, and as a dermatologist, do you recommend the HairMax lasercomb? Because the HairMax is $545.00 I have been investigating another similar product that has the same LLLT, same number of nm, same wavelength, output, class etc., but it much less expensive than the HairMax. Given these similarities - do you think it is the same? Or should I purchase the HairMax lasercomb.

Dear J
Laser devices work by stimulating the hair follicle's growth cycle similarly to Minoxidil based products. What they don't do is blocking DHT which is the primary treatment for male and Female Pattern Hair Loss. You should first decide on using a DHT blocker such as Revivogen and then decide to supplement it with a laser device and I do feel that lasers can be beneficial along Revivogen. [br]HairMax is the only FDA approved laser device and other devices claiming to be as effective can be potentially fakes so you should only use HairMax if you are interested in purchasing a laser device.

Will the use of Revivogen along with emu oil be effective?

Dear S
We have studied emu oil extensively and don't feel it has much benefit for hair loss. The oils in emu oil are not individual molocules so even if they are beneficial since they are linked together they are inactive and won't work. If you still wish to use Revivogen with emu oil you can do that without any problems.

Revivogen contains fatty acid and so does emu oil. So doesn't it mean that application of tropical emu oil has an effect on hair loss? [br]Also my front is an M shaped, but I can see very very tiny light hairs in between that are almost invisible. I'm using revivogen currently and dont really know these these tiny hairs on my frontal is the result of its application. Will these hair grow thicker over time with the use of revivogen?

Dear S
Not all fatty acids are created equally. First only a certain fatty acids really block DHT production and most fatty acids don't work. Furthermore even the right fatty acids are not active in their natural form and require additional processing to make them into active molecules. Not only Emu oil does not have all the right fatty acids, even if it does they are not going to work since they won't be active. The same applies to all other oils regardless of their name.[br][br]The hairs you are referring to are called miniaturized hairs. With the regular use of Revivogen and within 6 months you should notice that some of these hairs are becoming darker and longer. Overtime and with continued use of Revivogen or any other product that works these hairs will eventually transform and become normal hairs again. However not all of these hairs will grow into normal hairs as some of them are damaged beyond repair.
